The Begining - Planning - Thoughts on the trip

In late spring of 2014 we will be taking a trip to Nova Scotia.  Its about 5,500 miles and 12 days. I will use this blog to document the trip.

The plan is to drive up to the general area on four days drive around the area and then return in four days.

That means four days of 400 miles or so and then six days of sight seeing in the area and then return.  Well that is the plan.

I have started using Trip Advisor to look for motels.  It seems to be a good way to find places and the reviews are solid.  Many of the motels even respond to the posts.  Some more often then others or more regularly.

We have traveled some of the routes before but the plan is to drive up through West Virgina, through New York (Finger Lakes and even staying on one of the lakes) and then through New Hampshire and Main to New Brunswick and then travel around the entire island.

Coming back, to avoid traveling the same route, will be US 1 until the bottom part of Maine and then I-95, then down through New Jersey to Maryland and then across the Chesapeake Bay and then back on I-95.

More later.
